I’m not aware of Saddick Adams’ move -CK Akonnor

The head coach of Ashanti Gold SC, Charles Kwabena Akonnor, has denied any knowledge of the signing of former Asante Kotoko striker Saddick Adams having joined his outfit.

CK Akonnor, as he is popularly known in soccer circles, said apart from Asante Kotoko SC left back, Eric Donkor, one other player, who is not Saddick Adams, who have joined his outfit, he is aware of any other player.

“To be honest with you I am not aware of Saddick Adams joining Ashanti Gold, the only singing I’m aware of as the coach, which I discussed with club’s CEO, Frederick Acheampong, are that of Eric Donkor and one other player, not Saddick Adams”, CK Akonnor told the media in Kumasi.

Saddick Adams is said to have granted media interviews confirming his move to the Obuasi based club, but the head coach said Saddick is not part of his team as of now.

When asked whether he would like to work with Saddick Adams at Ashanti Gold as a player, CK Akonnor declined to pass a comment, but rather directed that questions should be centered on the signings known to him.

“Let’s not talk about the player (Saddick Adams), let’s talk about the players we have signed which I am aware of and the team”, CK said.

Saddick Adams joined Kotoko from Brekum Chelsea last season and he was the hero in 2016/2017 MTN FA Cup Final staged at Tamale when he scored 3-goals for Kumasi Asante Kotoko against Accra Hearts of Oak and he has previously played for Ashanti Gold Sc, and Atletico Madrid Youth team.
